lockonAI respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how lockonAI collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use our website, app, AI feedback tools, dashboard, and related services.

lockonAI helps VCE students receive feedback on handwritten maths work using AI. Because uploaded work may include handwriting, names, school details, answers, and learning data, we treat this information carefully.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account details, such as your name, email address, login details, and profile information.
  • Student learning data, such as uploaded handwritten maths work, answers, AI-generated feedback, marks, topic weaknesses, mastery scores, and dashboard history.
  • Images and files you upload for analysis.
  • Subscription and payment information, processed through Stripe. We do not store full card details.
  • Technical data, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and usage logs.
  • Communications you send us, such as support requests or feedback.

If you are a tutor, teacher, parent, or school representative, we may also collect information connected to student invitations, classes, or account management.

2. How We Collect Information

  • You create an account.
  • You upload maths work.
  • You use AI feedback or dashboard features.
  • You subscribe to a paid plan.
  • You contact us.
  • You interact with our website or emails.
  • You are invited by a tutor, teacher, parent, or school.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide AI feedback on uploaded maths work.
  • Generate marks, explanations, topic classifications, and weakness summaries.
  • Show progress in your mastery dashboard.
  • Manage accounts, login, subscriptions, and support.
  • Improve reliability, safety, and product quality.
  • Prevent misuse, fraud, or security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded student work to train our own AI models unless we clearly ask for your consent first.

4. AI Processing

lockonAI uses third-party AI services, including Google Gemini, to analyse uploaded images and generate feedback.

When you upload work, the image and related prompt information may be sent to our AI provider so the service can return feedback. AI feedback may be inaccurate or incomplete, so students should treat it as study support, not an official VCAA mark.

You should avoid uploading unnecessary personal information, such as full names, addresses, medical details, or private information about other people.

5. Service Providers

  • Supabase for authentication, database, and storage.
  • Google Gemini / Google AI services for image analysis and feedback.
  • Vercel or similar hosting providers.
  • Stripe for payments.
  • Resend or similar email providers.
  • Analytics and error-monitoring tools, if enabled.

These providers may process information in Australia or overseas. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate security and privacy practices.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies, local storage, logs, and analytics tools to keep you signed in, understand usage, improve performance, and detect errors.

You can disable cookies in your browser, but some parts of lockonAI may not work properly.

7. Student and Minor Users

lockonAI is designed for students, including school-aged users. If you are under 18, you should use lockonAI with permission from a parent, guardian, teacher, tutor, or school.

Parents, guardians, schools, and tutors should ensure they have the right authority before inviting students or uploading student information.

8. Data Ownership

You keep ownership of the work you upload.

By uploading content, you give lockonAI permission to store, process, analyse, and display that content only so we can provide the service, improve safety and reliability, comply with law, and support your account.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

No online service is completely secure. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide lockonAI, comply with law, resolve disputes, maintain security, and operate our business.

If you delete your account, we aim to cancel any active lockonAI subscription and remove account-linked learning data such as marking history, generated question history, and tutor links. Some information may remain with service providers or in backups, logs, analytics, billing, email, or security records where reasonably required by law or to operate the service.

You may also request deletion of your personal information. We will delete or de-identify information where reasonably possible, unless we need to retain it for legal, billing, security, operational, or backup reasons.

11. Access and Correction

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you.

We may need to verify your identity before responding.

12. Marketing

We may send product updates or marketing messages where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.

13. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will try to resolve it.

If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
